One Love Foundation and Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort Raise Afl. 85,865 for Stimami Sterilisami at 4th Annual Charity Dog Walk & Run

A remarkable Afl. 85,865 was raised in support of the Stimami Sterilisami Foundation’s national spay and neuter program during the 4th Annual Charity Dog Walk & Run, hosted by One Love Foundation and Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort. Held the evening of April 26, 2025, this glow-in-the-dark King’s Day celebration lit up the Alhambra area with nearly 200 participants and their furry friends. 

The total included Afl. 36,000 raised by One Love Foundation, thanks in part to their Charity Comedy Show with Aruba Ray’s Comedy in March, and Afl. 6,932 from ticket sales and donations. As in previous years, Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort matched every florin raised, doubling the impact.

A night of celebration

The evening’s program was masterfully hosted by the ever-energetic Rocio Burgos, who kept the momentum high with raffles, contests, and activities throughout the night.

After the walk, participants got to enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments, and prizes were awarded for three categories:

• Best Rescue Hero Story: Honoring adopted dogs and the powerful transformations they’ve undergone, as shared by their owners on stage.

• Best Royal Attire: Celebrating the most creatively dressed pets and owners in Dutch or regal King’s Day themes.

• Best Trick: A spontaneous and fun crowd-favorite where dogs performed their best and funniest tricks live on stage.

Stimami Sterilisami is grateful to Luna Foundation, Sgt. Pepper’s Friends, Animal Relief Foundation, and AWAA/Criojio Trappers, who brought adoptable pups to the event, giving attendees the chance to connect with rescue dogs and potentially meet their new best friend. Meanwhile, the Snoop Doggy Foundation made a powerful impact by sharing their educational children’s books, helping instill values of responsible pet ownership in the next generation.

Why It Matters

Spaying and neutering are critical in humanely reducing the stray population, easing pressure on rescue organizations, and improving overall animal welfare. Founded in 2016 by Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Stimami Sterilisami has funded over 40,000 sterilizations to date. The foundation covers 100% of the costs for female animals and rescues, and 50% for male pets owned by the public. As a non-profit, 100% of donations are used directly for sterilization subsidies, with fully audited and transparent financials.
